WORKING AT MEGACON
Thanks for your interest in being part of the MegaCon Orlando Crew!
For 2017, we are excited to be moving to a new model where our Crew is invited to apply for paid positions.
We have partnered with HES Staff to manage all the nitty gritty of payroll forms and HR documents. You are invited to submit your information through HES’s website.
The good news is we’ll still be having the same fun at the show. You’ll be wearing our shirts, working with our Leads and Show Management, and sharing the fandom with more than 100,000 attendees.
What if I can only work one shift?
Please let HES Staff know this when you complete your information form. Naturally the more shifts you do, the more on-the-job knowledge you gain, so we love it when you can work for more than one day. People who can work more than one day will be given priority.
What kind of perks can I expect?
As a paid Crew member, you are responsible for your own transportation, accommodation, parking, and food during the show. You’ll receive a MegaCon show shirt – please let us know your size when you apply. If you work more than two 8-hour shifts, you can attend the con when not on shift.
Can I work with my friend?
Make this request directly to HES Staff because they are responsible for scheduling.
Where’s Toni Chin?
Toni is still very much part of our day-to-day operations. She’s working with HES Staff to make sure that all the right people get scheduled to the right roles. Along with our Team Leads, Toni remains a key part of the successful people management at our shows across North America.
My financial situation doesn’t allow me to participate in paid employment. How can I get involved?
Please connect with HES Staff to discuss your specific situation.
- Visit HES Staff’s website to fill out their online information form. If you’ve been on the MegaCon crew in the past, be sure to let them know what role you did previously.
- HES Staff will be responsible for communicating with all Crew members. They’ll confirm they’ve received your info, and then you can expect to hear from them in approximately 3 weeks.
- There will be an onsite orientation that is mandatory to attend on Thursday, May 25 in the morning. This orientation will be part of a paid shift.
